我们常把“生命在于运动”这句话挂在嘴边,生命与运动真的有关吗?
大部分年轻人运动是为了塑造健美的身材曲线,而中老年人的运动似乎就更加“深谋远虑”了,为了生命更加长久。
美国的《衰老与体育运动杂志》曾刊登过加利福尼亚大学圣迭戈分校的一项研究。研究人员从2012年开始,对5446名超过63岁的女性进行了十多年的追踪记录,结果发现,无论有无长寿基因,较频繁的低强度身体活动和中等强度身体活动,都与较低的死亡风险相关,久坐则与高死亡风险相关。研究的结论是:运动在一定程度上有助于延长寿命。
除了研究成果的支持,通过运动延长寿命是否有一定的科学依据?什么运动的延寿效果最好?老年人如何把握运动强度、运动量和运动规律呢?
关于运动延寿的研究有很多,研究结果基本都支持运动会对寿命产生积极影响的结论。我们可以简单理解为锻炼能使身体好,身体好了寿命自然就长了。
首先,运动可以提高心肺功能,而心肺功能的下降往往使全因死亡率增加。那些长寿的老年人往往心肺功能比较强。其次 ,运动可以直接锻炼到我们的肌肉。肌肉在完成各种动作的过程中,本身就得到了锻炼。经常从事体育活动的人,肌肉的结构和机能会发生明显的变化,从而支持人体各器官系统从容地完成所承担的“任务”。大家都知道用进废退的道理,如果人不活动,肌肉就会发生“废用性萎缩”。正因为如此,我们常提醒中老年人“存钱不如存肌肉”。
再次,运动可以对神经系统产生积极的作用。很多人认可“调皮好动的孩子更聪明”这个说法,确实有一定道理。对孩子如此,对中老年人亦是如此。体育锻炼可以改善呼吸系统和血液循环系统的功能,增加吸氧量和血液运输能力,使神经细胞获得更充足的能量和氧气供应,有利于神经系统特别是大脑的正常高效工作。
另外,运动可以促进人体的新陈代谢。ATP(三磷酸腺苷)是人体运动时直接的供能物质。但是,人体储存的ATP只能够支持大约10秒的运动所需。如果继续运动下去,人体就需要分解糖和脂肪补充ATP。这个分解的过程,不但可以消耗脂肪,而且可以提高体内各种代谢酶的活性。所谓“流水不腐,户枢不蠹”,常运动的人机体各项功能更加强大,看上去也会更年轻。
运动对寿命的积极影响不但有理论支持,而且有科学依据。运动给身体带来的好处还不止这些。所以,建议中老年人要让运动成为生活的一部分。
对于运动延寿,有的人仍然有所怀疑。比如,曾有运动达人英年早逝的新闻,也有百岁老人似乎从不运动的报道。
寿命的长短是综合因素决定的,包括基因、运动、心理、医疗条件和饮食等各个方面。要想延年益寿,不能只靠运动,其他健康生活方式也起着关键作用。大家在积极锻炼的同时,还要戒烟戒酒,注意饮食均衡,少吃高油高盐食物,规律作息不熬夜,保证每天至少7小时的充足睡眠,保持健康阳光的心态。
我们更应该去享受运动的过程,而不是单纯追求运动的效果。不要有太多的“功利心”,要让运动成为一种生活方式。
掌握好度,方可延年益寿
既然运动可以延寿,是不是就可以一刻不休地动呢?当然不是,万事有节,过犹不及。
如何科学运动比运动方式本身更重要。运动是有“个性”的,运动项目和运动量要根据个人情况来安排。但不管进行哪种运动,运动项目不要太单一,要将有氧运动、力量训练、拉伸练习等多种运动方式有效组合,才能达到最大的健康效益。老年朋友可以试试传统的五禽戏和八段锦。
根据《全民健身指南》,老年人除了太极拳、柔力球,半蹲、仰卧卷曲这些有氧运动和力量练习外,还应增加平衡练习以预防摔倒。如做身体前后移动、一字站立平衡、平衡移动等练习,同时注意牵拉。
一般来说,我们使用最大心率评价运动强度。最大心率(次/分 )=220-年龄(岁)。一位70岁的老年人,最大心率为150。保持中等运动强度时,心率要控制在最大心率的60%~85%,即90~128次/分。锻炼者可以通过主观运动感觉来控制运动强度。一般进行中等强度有氧运动时,主观运动感觉为轻松或稍累。时间上,建议大家每天运动30~60分钟。
对老年人来说,运动安全是第一准则。部分中老年人病症较多,身体承受运动负荷的能力较差,不适合过量运动。这部分老年人运动时最好做运动评估,多听听医生的建议。
