“一直学习新知识的过程确实不轻松,很有挑战性。”说起自己的研究,彭菲一改生活中的腼腆和内向,侃侃而谈,语气里透着兴奋和自豪。
今年38岁的彭菲是汉王科技股份有限公司研发中心研发经理,2023年全国五一劳动奖章获得者。2010年,她从清华大学获得硕士学位后,来到汉王公司,成为了一名算法工程师。13年来,彭菲先后从事红外光人脸识别、可见光人脸识别、手掌静脉识别等多项人工智能算法的研发和改进工作。她牵头研发的人工智能算法落地教育、安防等多个领域,创造了近10亿元的经济效益。
汉王科技是国内最早进行人脸识别研究的企业之一,早在2008年就推出了首款嵌入式人脸识别系统。彭菲进入公司后接到的第一个任务,就是对红外人脸识别产品进行升级。随后,彭菲查阅大量资料、论文,修改算法,试验、改进、再试验、再改进,将原有算法提速了10倍左右。现在,搭载该算法的人脸识别产品不仅服务国内市场,还销往全球50多个国家和地区,被广泛使用。
随着汉王科技的研究重点逐渐从红外人脸识别转向可见光人脸识别,彭菲的工作重心也随之转移。
“相比于红外光必须有一个主动光源照射才能进行后续识别,可见光识别受场地局限更小,应用场景也更广泛。”那段时间,彭菲通过模拟增加或去掉不同光照类型的方式,反复调整算法,实现了效果提升。这项研究获得了北京市科学技术进步二等奖。后续,彭菲负责研究的可见光人脸识别算法,通过了公安系统的多个权威机构认证,相关产品及解决方案还曾服务G20峰会、中华人民共和国成立70周年庆典等多项重大活动。
疫情发生后,口罩让人脸识别技术面临新的挑战。彭菲迅速组织算法团队成员,短短几周时间就拿出了高精度的戴口罩人脸识别方案。不但如此,彭菲还主导(参与)了手掌静脉识别、指静脉识别、虹膜识别等多项生物特征识别技术的研究。
现在,彭菲带领团队主攻智能视频分析算法的研发和配合产品化,已开发出人车结构化、烟火检测、变化区域检测等多项功能并嵌入到汉王智能视频分析平台。这些功能可以用于自动监测初期火灾、工程车非法区域挖掘、城市“生命线”安全监测等多个领域。
“人工智能领域技术发展太快了,永远都有新东西出现,你必须要一直去学习。”彭菲说,与人工智能共同成长,她享受这种不断探索新事物的过程。
